We have advanced our Subinventory Move feature to make movement between your virtual subinventories even more intuitive!
The WineDirect Fulfillment portal offers many unique features that help clients optimize their inventory management. One of those is our subinventory feature. Subinventories are the in-system ability to aggregate inventory into separate categories for fulfillment by order type or release preference. Clients may use one of the many configured subinventory titles already existing in the system or create their own. In addition to customized selections, the system includes default subinventories. These are listed below and exist to allow for further visibility into inventory reconciliation. Primary: The Primary subinventory is the most recognized and default inventory sub in the system. This subinventory is used to reserve and fulfill all orders not otherwise mapped to the Club subinventory. If there is no inventory available to be reserved for orders, the orders will automatically go on hold due to insufficient inventory. Once inventory is received and the associated Inventory-In submission has been closed, inventory will automatically be reconciled into the Primary subinventory. Club: The Club subinventory allows for all orders reflecting a Club order type to fulfill only from this inventory allotment. Inventory can be moved to and from this inventory pool by using the Inventory Move tool. If configured, only orders with the Club order type will seek fulfillment from this inventory pool. If there is insufficient inventory within this subinventory, club orders will automatically go on hold due to insufficient inventory. Once inventory is received and the associated Inventory-In submission has been closed, inventory will automatically be reconciled into the Primary subinventory. QA: The QA subinventory is defined as the inventory pool for SKUs that have not passed our “Quality Assurance” check and, therefore, are held in this subinventory to ensure they are not used to fulfill orders. Our thorough quality assurance process monitors the caliber of received or returned product in the warehouse. Damage to bottles, labels, corks, foil, etc., will cause a product to fail to be returned into QA inventory. Bottles accumulated, and all movement within this subinventory is visible within our Inventory, Inventory Activity & Inventory Consumption reports. The QA inventory pool will deplete upon the product being returned to the client on a monthly or pre-arranged cadence. Inventory Out Subinventory: The Inventory Out subinventory allows for the visibility of inventory that is pending movement out of the warehouse to its destination listed on the associated Inventory OUT submission. Once SKUs have been submitted and received into this subinventory, they cannot be used to fulfill orders. Inventory will remain queued in this subinventory until the delivery has been completed and the associated Inventory OUT has been closed. Transfer to GLW: This inventory pool is used to visualize queued inventory destined to be received into our Glenwillow, Ohio, warehouse facility via an Inter-Center Transfer submission. This subinventory will only appear on inventory reports if the client is bi-coastal and transfers have been arranged. Transfer to WDI: See above - transfer of inventory from Glenwillow, Ohio, to the American Canyon/WDI facility. Transfer to SMA: See above - transfer of inventory from Glenwillow, Ohio, to the Santa Maria, CA facility. Transfer to PSO: See above - transfer of inventory from Glenwillow to Paso Robles, CA facility.
